How long should the tattoo heal before removal and what to expect...

Tattoo Removal can be a long process that needs to be handled carefully and correctly.  Unfortunately the tattoo needs to be completely healed and flat before beginning the removal process.  You can meet with a surgeon to find out the extent of the process such as how many sessions you would need and pricing as well as when it is safe to begin your first session.  A Tattoo Removal can be uncomfortable because of the powerful lasers being used but there are numbing creams that can be applied prior to the procedure to ease the discomfort. The session itself is fairly quick depending on the size and color of the tattoo. Be sure to consult with an physician who is very experienced in removing tattoos.

Tattoo Removal Timing?

+1

Thank you for the question.

From the physical standpoint,  you can begin the removal process when this skin has healed ( probably around 2 months after tattoo placement).

From these psychological standpoint,  you may want to give yourself additional time to make sure your “buyer's remorse” is  your “final decision”.

If you do decide to have it removed, examination by a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon will give you a precise answer when the process can be started.

Best wishes.
