Is Most Swelling Gone 1 Week Post Op Augmentation and Lift?

I had a vertical breast lift and augmentation 1 week ago. I was a A cup before surgery and requested to be a small C cup. I am happy with the current size, but I am afraid that I will think they are too small after all swelling subsides. Should most of the swelling be gone one week post op? My surgeon used 300 cc round moderate plus profile mentor gel implants. Should this take me from an A cup to a C cup? I weigh 113 pounds and I am 5'4.. feeling like I should have gone a little bigger?

Breast implant Size and Cup Size?

Thank you for the question. The more breast surgery I do the more I realize that there is no correlation between the size or model (profile) of implant used and resulting cup size. This may have to do with several factors including: the amount of breast volume the patient starts with, the shape of the patient's chest wall (concave or convex), the type and model of breast implant selected (saline/silicone and low/moderate/high profile), bra manufacturer variance... more

How long does swelling take to resolve after breast lift and augmentation

One week is not long enough for the swelling to resolve...it can take weeks for the acute swelling to diminish, and a small amount of tissue thickening can take a few months to resolve. Some of this does not necessarilly result in a major change in size, but instead a relaxation and softening of the tissues and hopefully a more natural look and feel. I would not suggest spending much money on expensive bras for a at least 6 weeks!

Post breast augmentation

Usually the swelling after a breast augmentation does not go away within a week. Perissitent swelling can last for several weeks andminor swelling may require a few months to go away.
