Swelling Help?

i am about 11 1/2 post op rhinoplasty, patient with thick skin, male, and it seems my sidewall swelling is still pretty soft and not hard so i can feel it press down when i touch it but some times when i do it makes a crunching noise, does this indicate there is also scar tissue formation, or some time of retention etc..?

Swelling At About 1 Year After Rhinoplasty

Dear Johnny, By now, most of the swelling should be resolved typically. However, every patient is different and swelling could last a little longer than a year. At this point, corticosteroid injections may not have a considerable effect. Without photographs and physical examination, it is hard to determine the exact cause and extent of swelling if any is left. Best of luck to you. Dr. Sajjadian

Persistant Swelling

Yes, the swelling could be from scar tissue formation, which could be improved by a kenalog injection.You should consult with your surgeon to see if this may help.

Swelling 1 Year after Rhinoplasty

One year after rhinoplasty most swelling has resolved except in the tip in some patients with thick skin like you.All you can do is be patient for another 6 months. Pictures would be helpful in evaluating your present appearance.
