Are My Problems From First Surgery Fixable?

I had saggy breast before I decided to get plastic surgery.I'm 26, and very slim. My doctor recommended a lift cutting only around the nipple and also implants. The doctor didn't like the first result and we went again to lift them more. But still I feel the breast tissue hangs off the implant. I'm considering more surgery with a new surgeon. Can my problem be fixed or is this something I should have expected because of the condition of my breast pre surgery?

Breast surgery revision

I can't imagine that your result couldn't be improved in some way especially of there is residual laxity but a photo is critical for us to give you better advice. You might need a different doctor if what you have represents the best they could do.

Revision breast surgery can be more difficult each time

A general principle to keep in mind is that the biggest predictor of a revision breast operation is a prior revision surgery. While no one can give you specific advice without seeing you, it sounds like you may have reached the limit of what a Benelli (periareolar) breast lift can do. Perhaps converting to a vertical pattern will be necessary, even if it means trading more scar for a better shape.

Breast Implant Revision - Are My Problems From First Surgery Fixable?

It's virtually impossible to make a recommendation or assessment without before and after photos or being able to examine you in person. However, in general, it is important to try to identify the appropriate procedure, even if it's not what everyone hopes it would be. This could apply in this situation (I'm just speculating) if a more formal and complete breast lift at the first procedure might have been the better course. This is at least suggested by what... more

Dear Poppy heart in usa, Thank you for your question! Secondary and Tertiary Surgeries are always more difficult- particularly if another surgeon is performing the subsequent revision surgery. Whether your breast shape can be corrected would require a consultation and examination- with a review of the risks. There are several options- scar/incision type, implant shape/size, placement of implant, fat grafting.... on so on. Good Luck, With Warm... more

Revisionary Breast Surgery?

Thank you for the question. Yes, I'm sure that the problem you are experiencing can be “fixed”. Exactly what needs to be done to improve the situation will depend on your physical examination and your goals. Make sure you are working with a well experienced board-certified plastic surgeon well-versed with revisionary breast surgery. Best wishes.

Sagging breasts

If your breasts are hanging over the implant, it may be that the implants placement was not done adequately and/or the lift was not adequate. Without an exam it is hard to say.

Sagging breasts after lift and implants

Hi Poppy, you didn't mention how long ago you had the first surgery or the revision. That would be helpful in answering your question.

Inadequate lift.

The peri-areolar, donut, or Benelli lift has limitations. In this case, you have discovered that doing less gives you a lesser satisfied result. A full lift is likely necessary. At times, this may not be known with certainty at the time of the original procedure, but can be done now. The more items you attempt to correct at once, the less control and predictability you have over any of them.

Fix the sag

Very often when we try to compromise with smaller incisions and scars, we also compromise on the result. It sounds like you need a full breast lift. But have hope because it sounds like this is correctable.

Are My Problems From First Surgery Fixable?

Dear Poppy, without photos, it is difficult to tell you what you exactly waht you would need to get your best results, however I can tell you that whatever the situation, I assure you that there is likely to be a surgery that can correct your sagging breasts- you may need a more extensive lift, such as a lollipop lift. Good luck!
