Hello, I am a Black female with Chinese ancestry but I do not have eyes that are reflective of my Chinese ancestry. I am wondering would a fat graft make my eyes look more asian? The shape of my eyes is somewhat reflective of Asian eyes but the lids are not. Thank you

Creating an Asian appearing fold
Filler to the upper lid may work but not many people have experience with this technique. I have seen a very nice presentation in China of fillers for the upper lid in aging Chinese patients which appeared to give very good results by an experienced injector. I am not aware of anyone in the US with a large series using this technique.

One of the characteristics of the Chinese lid is a very low crease and a very full upper lid. One nice way to create this is to use filler (off-label) to increase the volume and the fullness of the upper lid and create the appearance of a lower crease. And, if a hyaluronic acid filler is used, it can be tailored to get the most even result possible.

Not without risking significant damage to your upper eyelid.
Despite what you might read on the internet about grafting fat to the upper eyelid to create fullness of the fold, this procedure is not reliable. In fact, I would put the likelihood of success from placing fat pearls or injecting fat into the upper eyelid fold to create fullness at less than 10%. My clinical experience is that significant clinical distress and unhappiness is seen for procedures that have a typical success rate that is less than about 95%. There are...
