Sunburn After Rhinoplasty

I got a sunburn in the fifth month after my rhinoplasty. Now, in the sixth month the swelling has gone down completely but there is a red area which has faded pretty much but I, at least, still notice it. Will it go away completely? With how much time has the sunburn set back the healing process? Can a sunburn reshape the nose? Thanks!

Sunburn after Rhinoplasty

The sunburn will not impact the final result of your rhinoplasty surgery. However, if your surgeon does a lot of skin care ask for advice; if not consult with a dermatologist. Even though you're now 2 months after a severe sunburn and 6 months after surgery, avoid all sun exposure with the use of good sunscreens, even during normal everyday activities.

Sun exposure after rhinoplasty

I don't think the sunburn will affect the final result. It is difficult to know how long the redness will last.  Sunscreen is very important after rhinoplasty as the skin (and especially any external incisions) is more sensitive to the sun for many months after the surgery.

Sunburn Affecting Rhinoplasty Outcome

Rhinoboy, I would not be so concerned about the sunburn adversely affecting the ultimate result of your rhinoplasty procedure. Whether or not the visible skin changes from the sunburn go away is a different matter. But I think it is unlikely that the sunburn had or is going to have a significant impact on what was done to reshape the nose.
