Styles for Gray hair...

Here are a couple of looks to consider with gray hair:

  • The classic inverted bob, maybe with bangs or layers for movement.
  • Short and spiky cuts, or short geometric cuts to show off bone structure.

I don't recommend wearing your hair below your shoulders once it's turned grey, unless you're planning on wearing it pulled back in a really smart and clean way. Also with this look, choose a great pair of eyeglasses as an alternative to contacts. They can add more character to your image... and don't forget a great lipstick color!

Long gray hair that simply hangs can look pedestrian and unkept. As a guy with prematurely gray hair ( I was gray by 33) I've found that keeping it shorter with hair product in it makes it look darker, creating contrast with the hair that's still dark. Believe it or not, I actually look younger with gray hair than when I dye it brown. The silver/grey hair acts as highlights against the darker hair, creating movement and contrast.

When I dyed my hair dark for the heck of it a few years ago, I couldn't believe how much older I looked because the wrinkles in my forehead popped out. Who would have thought that mother nature knew best.
