Is it normal to have striped swelling on the entire face after IPL photorejuvenation? It went from red and swollen to a quilted pattern. It has been 7 hours since the procedure.

Can Be Normal

This can be a normal result of IPL. Do not panic. This usually will go away as long as you were not burnt. Please give this 48 hours. Sometimes this is a normal reaction to an intense treatment. However, if this does not resolve itself within three days, you should return to your physician. This is especially true if you have bar marks after the procedure. This would be from a burn. Fortunately, it can be corrected but it is not easy.
