Redness and inflammation are an important part of scar formation. To treat, I use a combination of IIT and pulsed dye scar laser.

No, steroid shots do not help reduce redness in scars.

Steroid shots (intralesional steroid injections) are useful in keloids, and hypertrophic scars to reduce scar bulk and also improve symptoms like itching and irritation to a small extent. Redness in a scar, alone, is not a reason to consider injecting steroids into it.
