Choosing a Plastic Surgeon

Bahram Ghaderi, MD answers: How to find a good breast lift with implants doctor?

Hello, I'm 18 years old and I had a baby when I was 15. My breasts have sagged down and gotten a lot smaller I'm now at around a 36B or C. I'd love a breast lift and breast augmentation as well, but scared in case it goes wrong. Where can I find a good and safe cosmetic surgeon?

When choosing a plastic surgeon you can use different methods. First, make sure you are searching for board certified plastic surgeons who are also on staff at reputable local hospitals. Then, ask friends/family members and usually two to three names come up. I would also check with your doctors - family physician, OB/Gyn, etc to get physician referrals. You can cross reference these three methods and once you narrow the list down to 2-3 surgeons, then call to make an appointment. See who fits your personality the best and answers all your questions without hesitation. Also, make sure that they spend time with you directly and not their assistants. By that point you will have found your surgeon. Try not to look at fees or prices as your first line of making choices between surgeons. First make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Good luck with your search.

You should always ask friends and friendly for referrals. I would consult with your gynecologist as well. Always confirm credentials through local medical societies and hospitals.
