Recovery after Breast Reduction?
Thank you for the question.
Following common sense guidelines such as healthy diet and a period of rest/inactivity in a relatively stress-free environment should help promote a smooth recovery after breast reduction surgery.
Best wishes.

Speed Up Healing Time for Breast Reduction with Surgical Support Bra, ScarGuard, or Mederma
Taking good care of your surgical incisions by following your surgeon's instructions carefully is the most important part of your post operative recovery. You should also wear a good surgical support bra for eight weeks as it takes this period of time for your body to put down the maximal knitting together fiber. You may also want to use Mederma or ScarGuard on your incisions starting a few weeks after surgery to shorten the time for your scar healing. Good...

Healing after Breast Reduction
Just continue with a healthy diet and lifestyle. No smoking and avoid rubbing anything on your breasts early on, like vitamin E or other creams.
After about 4 weeks and completely healed incisions I allow my patients to use special scar creams to help with the scar healing.
Good luck.

Following your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions is important for a good recovery
Hello - To help with a smooth course after your surgery, it's important to follow your surgeons instructions. This may include no exercise for 1-2 weeks, limited bathing, and taking care of your drains. For creams, I recommend Mederma for scars after surgery. Also, make sure you don't smoke for at least 2 weeks before and after your surgery and this includes second-hand smoke. Good luck!

Speeding up healing time
Be in the best medical health, stop smoking, stop any type of blood thinning meds or vitamins, do not have surgery during the menses, have a stable post op environment. That should cover it.

Improved healing after Breast Reduction
There is nothing specific to breast reduction that you can do to improve your healing. However, many things improve healing in general. These things include a good diet, use of vitamin and mineral supplements, and not smoking.

Breast reduction healing
The main things which you should do to ensure normal healing following your reduction is to avoid things which can cause problems with healing.
The foremost of these is to not smoke. Other things to avoid are aspirin, vitamin E, fish oil, and other medications that can cause abnormal bleeding.
There are silicone gel and strips that you can apply postop to improve scarring, but they do not improve healing per se.
