In my experience, most patients do not experience much "pain" after Smart Lipo. If they do it is usually better in 5 to 7 days. Most patients do experience swelling for at least 10-14 days post treatment which can be uncomfortable.
Some patients call this "pain" while many recognize and describe it as "discomfort." Is this just semantics? Maybe...but I have had the procedure myself, and I think the two are definitely different. Bruising, though relatively minimal with Smart Lipo, can add to the discomfort, but bruising is generally gone in about a week.
As for the "pain" being a sign of a problem it certainly could be, but is generally not. Let you doctor check the area if you are cocerned. Signs of a problem would be a fever, increasing pain or tenderness, increasing redness or a purulent (think pus) drainage. If you are worried please call your physicians office.
