Yes, Smart Lipo is a very effective approach for removing fat below the chin and in jowls and can be readily used to achieve skin tightening of the neck. It is done with 150-300 cc of tumescent anesthesia, making it very comfortable and can generally be done with a single 2mm incision that can be easily hidden in a fold just below the chin. Fat is gently melted with the laser fiber and then carefully removed with very low suction. Then the loose neck skin is divided into heating grids and each 5x5 cm grid is warmed to 38-40 degrees C. This allows for both release of the loose skin and causes collagen stimulation. The new MPX is very effective for tightening skin, but it is SO new, one should be sure their physician has a lot of experience using it. Good Luck!
