During Sliding Genioplasty, Can a Wedge Shape Section Be Cut Out? (photo)

Hi I'm about to have a number of procedures done on my face. One is a sliding genioplasty. Being a former graphic designer i decided to try predicting what my face will look like after surgery. (see images) Can a wedge shape be cut out instead of a parallel piece to minimise the huge step that will be caused by the sliding after parallel section removal? Also leaving more bone in front Another question is, if the cut angle is increased, wouldn't that also reduce the verticle height of the chin?

Increasing the cut angle will indeed decrease the vertical height of your chin.
This was a concern of mine when I had the procedure done.
I had something called a wedge genioplasty which is where the chin bone is cut horizontally and the separated bone is then tipped downward slightly to increase the height of the chin. That is just one of many types of genioplasty procedures.
There are always bone movement limitations due to how much the soft tissue will stretch. Only your surgeon can tell you what is possible with your chin.
Hope this was helpful!
