I have ethnic skin that keloids and hyperpigments. I am wondering if there are any skin tightening laser that can be used on my skin type. From all that I have read, I would need a laser that only effects dermis and does not bother the epidermis which is where the pigment making cells live.

Go deep for skin tightening
Yes it is best to stimulate the collagen deeply, where it is located ... in the dermis. This not only produces the best tightening, but also bypasses more superficial pain sensors up in the epidermis.
For darker skin tones, the risk of pigmentation changes or even keloids is markedly less.
I would look into radio frequency or infrared. Several brands are out there including Thermage, Titan, and Endymed. Strictly speaking, these would not be considered lasers. They...
