Skin Looks Pink/red and Raw After Jessner Peel, is this Normal?

I did an at home Jessner Peel 3 days ago and my skin frosted, and became scabby as expected. I've washed my face with only my hands and the "mild cleanser" and some scabs fell off.Now the skin thats peeled is pink/red/raw looking. I am black so this is noticable. It looks like when you get a scrape and new skin is left, which means that it won't go back to my normal skin tone? The skin itself is smooth but the tone is off, why and how 2 fix. I'm using a/d ointment & neosporin 2 heal is that ok?
