Will Skin Lightening Cream Help to Remove Completely Sun Tan on Face?

i have dark shades on my forehead one is light and other is moderate pigmented,which is slightly propagated on the under eyes. which is due to sun exposure. i consulted dermatologist, he prescribed to use skin lighting creme called <<brand name deleted, editor>> skin lighting creme and also sunscreen lotion SPF 30,and daily one vitamin tablets. Now my skin looks very light on the sun tan portions, it may noticed that i have slight redness. it will permanent on my face?shall go for chemical peel?
