What Can I Do About a Skin Depression on the Buttocks?

After being born, I had a horrible infection that left a flattened area of the skin on my lower buttocks. This area was softer, thinner and very flat. It was about 2 inches in length and width. A plastic surgeon told me all he could do is cut out the skin and sew back together. After the surgery, I've had a light scar and though the buttocks seems slightly more even now, the thin skin seems to have spread more and the thin skin wrinkles when standing preventing a normal round shape. I am female.
