What's the Downside of Having a Thin Nose?

I wanted a longer and thinner nose but my doctor said that having a thin nose is bad in the long run. He said I would have problems down the road. That it would change drastically and not look good? Is this true? He says this is not told to most patience and its not right because they might be happy now but will not be later on and will not understand what happened to their nose. Can it be addressed later on?

Downside of a thin nose.

There are many ways of doing thin skinned noses if that is your question. It is difficult to answer without seeing your photos. See an experienced rhinoplasty surgeon and you should not have any problems with the nose in the future.

Thin noses

In regards to rhinoplasty it is very important to have a natural appearing nose from all three dimensions and that breathes adequately. A thin or pinched nasal tip will only lead to further surgery and breathing related problems.

Downside of a Thin Nose

The width of a nose should be proportional to the surrounding facial features, whether it is thin or not. The only problem with narrowing the nose is that nasal breathing may be compromised.  I hope this helps, but I suggest you get a second opinion.

Downside of a thin nose

Hello, If your surgery is too aggressive and your nose is made too narrow, it is likely you will experience issues with your breathing. It really depends on your individual circumstances, and an examination would be necessary to determine what would be best for you. Please feel free to ask me any additional questions about rhinoplasty, and I would be happy to answer them for you. Thank you, and good luck. Dr. Nassif

Thinning the nose

It is possible that overly thinning the nose can result in breathing difficulties.  Other than appearance there would be no specific consequences.  If you need further information a photo would be very helpful.

Thin nose

You have to be a bit more specific about what you  mean.   A thin nose is a thin nose.  It may change over time after rhinoplasty but it is hard to predict.
