Would Sinus Surgery Cause Scar on Nasal Septum?

I had sinus surgery many years ago, and I found there is a spindly scar left on my nasal septum that is under the inferior nasal concha . Is this normal or actually a accident? Thank you very much!

Scar from prior sinus surgery

If your surgery was many years ago it was common to create an opening into the maxillary sinus (inferior nasal natural window) by entering under the inferior concha which would create a scar in this area.  Most of the time these windows scar shut as they aren't the physiologic outflow tract.
