I had a Silicone Breast Augmentation 2 months ago, and 2 weeks after, I started experiencing tingling throughout my body. Nobody seems to think it's related to my implants, including my neurologist, but I was a healthy 28-year-old before. Could it be related? An EMG showed I was having neuropathy.

Silicon implants and tingling

There is no evidence in the literature that I know of that silicone implants can cause any type of neuropathy. It was a good idea for you to see a neurologist and get worked up.

Hi there- At this point, silicone implants are among the most studied medical devices known, and there is no credible evidence to suggest that they cause neuropathy, or any other illness. I think this is one of life's coincidences. Follow your neurologist's recommendations and keep your follow up appointments with your plastic surgeon and hopefully this will pass for you soon.
