Breast Reduction with a Different Silicone Implant Type?
I currently have Mentor Siltex Round MP, 350cc filled to 375cc. The diameter and projection of current implants are 13.3" and 3.9". I now also have a deflation. The original surgery was on August 2002 and the implants were placed intra-muscle. I am 5'8" and I have 30" rib cage and broad shoulders. I am considering changing to Siltex Round Gel MP. I am interested in downsizing to 325cc, with the diameter and projection of 12.9" and 3.6". Could I go with the 325cc 12.9 diameter without changing my cleavage spacing or is that a risk?

Reducing implant diameter by 4 millimeters will not affect cleavage
Hi!
Four millimeters (13.3 minus 12.9) is less than a quarter of an inch. Go ahead and get the smaller implants. All your surgeon has to do is very slightly close off the outer (by your arms) edge of the implant pockets.
I would recomend using smooth walled rather than Siltex implants. The Siltex surface has no advantages, in my opinion, and several disadvantages. More and more plastic surgeons are switching to smooth implants. Look into it!

Breast Implant Exchange?
Thank you for the question.
In my opinion, you would be better off communicating your goals clearly with your plastic surgeon( I like the use of cool pictures) and then allow him/her to help you achieve those goals. If you attempt to micromanage press and plan selection you may end up disappointed with the results of surgery.
I use intraoperative sizers and place the patient in the upright position to evaluate breast size. Use of these sizers also allow me to select the...

Cleavage will change
The numbers don't lie. Reducing the width of the implant will widen the cleavage and the larger pocket may exacerbate your concerns. You should talk to your doctor about medializing (pushing the implants toward the midline) the implants if that is truly your concern. A warning with this maneuver is that moving the implants in any directions tends to move the nipples in the opposite direction.
So,
Move the implants in and the nipples will point out.
Move the implants down and the nipples...

It will be a small loss of diameter
Hello
Each implant is 0.4 cm smaller in diameter, so the cumulative loss will be 0.8 cm. That is a small change, but there will be some more separation as the 325 cc implant sits in the pocket of the former 375 cc implant.
Cleavage is only one measure of breast aesthetics. If you are more comfortable at a smaller size, go ahead and do that. Push up bras are what really makes cleavage work and that can be done at either size. Best of luck.

You will lose some cleavage
If you decrease the diameter of the implants, you will lose cleavage. To maintain the cleavage, you need the same or slightly more diameter as you already have. You might want to stick with the 350 MP gel or even the 375 MP gel which has the same diameter as the 350 when you put them side by side but just a little more upper inner pole fullness.

Breast reduction with implants
It is possible to perform a breast reduction with an implant exchange at the same time. Keep in mind that this is one of the most difficult surgeries in breast surgery. This is because your current breast implants have stretched out your breast tissue and may have compromised the blood supply that a breast lift depends on. For this difficult surgery, it is very important to consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who is a great deal of experience with revision breast...
