Side effects of laser treatment for acne scars
Although there is individual variation, in general, people of ethnic background (Asian, African-American) are at increased risk of pigment alterations following laser treatments of all kinds. For this reason, we tend to use lower energies and less aggressive settings, as well as topical regimens (including skin lightening products) to counteract the tendency to pigment.
