Much faster recovery for chin lipo

+1

Chin liposuction requires shorter recovery time compared to liposuction of abdomen. The area is much smaller and procedure time is only about one hour. There is  definitely less bruising and soreness. Most of the patients are back to work after a couple of days and pain and discomfort is minimal. You can go back to your daily activities shortly after the procedure and there is no need for the compression garment after 48 hrs. Abdominal lipo is more involved, usually patients take a week off from work

How Much Shorter is the Recovery for Chin Lipo Compared to Abdomen Lipo? Answer:

+1

If there is one procedure that my patients have universally LOVED, its lipo of the neck/chin! Just a small amount makes such a difference .The recovery for chin Liposuction is usually very quick, getting out in public in a few days and not too sore. Most of the bruising settles downhill around your lower neck.  Lipo of the tummy can be a bit more tender but somewhat easier to hide..except for the Lipo Garment under your clothes!

Chin vs abdomen lipo

Since the neck area is much smaller than the abdomen, the area of injury from surgery is smaller and the recovery is faster.  The return to work after a chin lipo is about a week to ten days and for a full abdominal wall, about a week or more or more depending on you tolerance of soreness.  Both areas will still be somewhat swollen but markedly improved compared to their pre lipo state.  Return to normal skin texture for the neck is about 2 months and 3-4 months for the abdomen.

Recovery from liposuction of the chin versus the abdomen

+1

Chin liposuction generally involves a smaller area than that of the abdomen which can influence"recovery". The question is what exactly do you mean by recovery? If you are in the public's eye, then you may be off from work or social circles longer for chin liposuction because it is in an area that is visible versus the abdomen which is not. There will probably be less discomfort with treatment of the neck than the whole abdomen.

If you are seriously considering these procedures, discuss them with a board certified plastic surgeon.

Chin liposuction recovery is quick and easy

Chin liposuction takes less than 2 hours when done with safe pure tumescent anesthesia.  The recovery only requires a compression garment worn around the chin for 1 week all day long (except when taking a shower) then 12 hours during the day or night for 2-3 more weeks.  My patients are amazed that there is almost no discomfort and very little bruising.  Best to you.

Recovery from Chin Liposuction

Recovery from liposuction varies both by area of the body and the amount of tissue that was removed.  Swelling  goes down rapidly in the first four weeks, but slowly thereafter for 3-6 mos. Bruising lasts from ten days to four weeks.  Chin liposuction unlike other areas of the body may result in some temporary numbness or intereference with lower lip motion so that your speech may feel a little funny for a week or two.

Recovery for Chin Liposuction Compared to Abdomen Liposuction?

Obviously, the recovery would depend on HOW MUCH Fat there is to be removed or sculpted in each area. Usually, liposuction of the abdomen is a much larger operation and would entail a greater recovery period.
