I Have Sharp Pain After Tummy Tuck

I have chronic constipation nothing works for me except laxatives. I had my tummy tuck in november. Almost 5 months ago. When I go to the bathroom I always strain. Now I have sharp pains on the left side of my stomach. Did I or am I going to ruin my new tummy tuck?

Constipation affter tummy tuck

The left sided abdominal pain you describe needs to be worked up by a gastroenterologist as it can be reflective of many conditions. Please see your internist for a referral as soon as possible because colon cancer should be ruled out. Straining can affect the abdominal musculature but I am much more concerned about the medical etiology of your problems.

Sharp pains after straining 5 months post tummy tuck

Since you are 5 months after your tummy tuck, it is unlikely that your pain is from your tummy tuck. I am however concerned about your straining from chronic constipation. Straining can precipitate abdominal wall injury including abdominal wall hernias. I think it is important to visit with your primary care doctor/ internist to get treatment for your chronic constipation. Best of luck.
