Seroma 1.5 Years After Augmentation?

I had breast implants almost 2 years ago. About 6 months ago I felt sore around my right implant. I started mashing around and discovered what feels like larger ribs in a horseshoe shape around implant. Very tender. Hurts to sleep on that side. Had CT scan and they describe either a cyst, hematoma or seroma. How could this happen this long after surgery? Side notes, I had a baby 10 months ago. I also exercise regularly. Could this be an explanation. I'm very scared.

Seroma 1.5 Years After Augmentation?

I have seen only one seroma more than a year after surgery in a large breast plastic surgery practice, and no cause could be determined there. No one will be able to diagnose this online, so a visit to your plastic surgeon for evaluation is the only way you can get this examined and treated. Don't accept any reassurance from anyone who hasn't examined you. Thank you for your question, best wishes.

CT Scan Showing Fluid after 2 Years Following Breast Augmentation

CT scan is pretty conclusive. The size of the fluid collection should be assessed by the plastic surgeon and determine if drainage would be appropriate. Kenneth Hughes, MD Hughesplasticsurgery Los Angeles, CA

Seroma after augmentation?

Without more information it is difficult to answer this. I think first you need to see your surgeon to have an evaluation.

Seroma

It is hard to have a seroma that has not resolved 2 years after surgery. You may be feeling the edge of the implant?? See a breast surgeon for further evaluation.

One more note. The seroma/hematoma/cyst in question is 5 cm x 1 cm and is just under the implant on the muscle. Lots of bloodflow to that area on ultrasound. Could it be a muscle tear? I understand cancer also has lots of blood flow.
