Had Septoplasty 2 years ago to correct a deviated septum in an attempt to help my sleep apnea. I did not pick my nose at all after the surgery for about a month and was using a nasal rinse for about 2 months. The problem is that my nose still develops large internal scabs every day or so, to the point that my breathing is actually worse then before the surgery. I am constantly picking my nose (in private) to rid the scabs. What should I do?

Answer: Scabs in the nose 2 years after septoplasty
Our office contacts the insurance to try and obtain coverage for a procedure like a rhinoplasty or septoplasty. You may have a problem for if you have Kaisder, they will not cover you having surgery done by an outside plastic surgeon. Watch our videos!
I would go in and see your surgeon as soon as possible for a physical examination. It would take a pretty good knock to the nose to disrupt the septum. It is always best to be safe then sorry so protect your nose during this post operative phase and see your surgeon. Best regards!
