Septoplasty 3 Weeks Ago - Hard Crusts at Opening of Sinus Cavities

I had Septoplasty 3 weeks ago and now have hard crusts at the opening of the sinus cavity on both sides. They seem to have formed from mucous and blood. At first I was able to remove some with tweezers but now they are rock hard. I live in Canada and my surgeon only wanted to see me on week 6 after the procedure. I'm nervous that this is going to be irreversible if not taken care of now. Any ideas or previous experience with this kind of occurence?
