Can a Septoplasty Straighten a Broken Nose?

I don't have any breathing problems, but my nose has a bump in it that is affecting my self-esteem. Could septoplasty fix that? Also, what age would be appropriate for fixing a broken nose with surgery? I am a 13 year old girl.

I would certainly recommend you see a board certified facial plastic surgeon or a plastic surgeon with experience in rhinoplasty surgery. That being said for females, it is best to wait until you are about 15 years of age and your nose has stopped growing. However, it may be that you only need a limited surgery to file down a bump and straighten your nose. Most reputable surgeons would want you to be closer to 15. I hope this information helps.

Septoplasty

Septoplasty alone would not straighten the crocked nose, or remove a nasal hump. You probably need a full septorhinoplasty. Cosult a BOARD CERTIFIED PLASTIC SURGEON
