Selsun Blue Shampoo for dark forehead patch?

I have a dark patch on my forehead. I got it after vacationing in Maui. I have tried everything from laser treatments to skin lightening creams. The lady at my tanning salon told me to try Selsun Blue 2.5 shampoo. Will this work?

Do not use anti dantruff shampoo on skin. I did and it left my skin burned.
