Sculptra to Enhance Face and Boost Collagen

+1

Sculptra works by stimulating your body's own ability to restore collagen as well as enhance the facial area being treated, such as the chin. The time that Sculptra is effective can be up to two years. It is important to recognize that facial aging will continue so it is likely that the Sculptra treatment will need to be repeated after the body has metabolized it.

Sculptra for saggy skin

Sculptra is probably not ideal for sagging skin rather it is more ideal where there is lost fat and underlying structure. It is place in chin and cheek area very often but if there is significant sagging it wont lift this up.

Sculptra provide a lift?

Technically, Sculptra is best for filling out areas that have lost volume due to the aging process: such as temples and cheeks.  Depending on placement and the severity of the sag it may potentially help give a slight lift.  Again, fillers are usually best used to fill hollow areas.

Sculptra helps to restore facial volume

+1

Part of the aging process is the loss of facial volume which results in sagging skin.  Sculptra helps to restore some of the volume by stimulating the body to produce collagen in the treated areas - the cheeks, temples, lateral brow, etc.  This increase in volume may result in less sagging around the chin.  The effect can last for up to two years and should be repeated as needed.  If there is significant sagging in the chin area, one should consider a facelift.

Sculptra for sagging skin around the chin

When properly placed, Sculptra can lift the sagging skin causing jowls around the chin. Skin folds are really just the first obvious visible signs of a slow progressive change taking place in all structures of the face. Sculptra is not injected directly into these wrinkle lines and folds, but rather into multiple areas of the face to treat the volume loss that leads to their appearance. This leads to the subtle and natural-looking results that are so often desired. Patients don’t want to look “done” but also don’t want to look “tired”. Seemingly small changes in shape, proportions, balance, and symmetry can have a surprisingly large effect on our perception of the aging face.

Sculptra: The Liquid Facelift

Sculptra is a product that is injected into areas where patients have lost volume, including bone, fat, and collagen.  It causes your body to produce more collagen, thereby "volumizing" areas.  It is typically injected in areas such as the temples, cheeks, and many other areas.  We know that sagging skin and wrinkles are primarily the result of volume loss as we age; therefore, Sculptra helps to regain what has been lost.  When volume is added to the face, your skin is supported again like is was when you were younger.  Saggy skin and wrinkles are significantly improved.  If you simply tighten your skin with lasers or a facelift, your skin is tighter, but you will still have the facial structure or "volume" of someone much older.  Volume is the key to a youthful appearance.  Best of luck to you.

Does Sculptra Help Reduce Sagging Skin Around the Chin?

Without an examination or a photograph it is impossible to answer your question. Sculptra is a filler and fillers do NOT shrink nor tighten sagging skin. You will get MUCH better shrinking and lifting from Broad Band Light (BBL) devices such as Sciton's SkinTyte or from fractionated laser devices such as Sciton's Joule laser (ProFractional). These devices WILL shrink and lift skin.

Placing Sculptra, Radiesse and Restylane / Perlane Juvederm in the cheeks WILL fill them resulting in reduction of SOME of the sagging along the jowls but it will NOT shrink the skin. In you have mild jowling resulting in triangular deformities on either side of the chin, these can be smoothed out with fillers giving the illusion that they were lifted. This is definitely an option in some people.
