The indentation under my chin in my neck looks like someone poked the skin deeply and it did not pop back out into a normal shape, but just stayed indented. The indentation is right in between the two protruding salivary glands. Is it possible to do a vertical cut on the neck to pull the vertical bands closer together (they are about two inches apart) and to make the indentation disappear or should I have a fat transfer to close the deep indentation?
Answer: Correcting the Indentation Under the Chin If your surgery was recent, it could still be too early into your healing to determine if a #correction is necessary. Typically, it's best to wait 6 to 12 months depending on the reason for #revision. Generally, it will take approximately 7-10 days for the early healing in which many patients feel comfortable being in public at this stage. Most #bruising is low on the neck and may easily be covered by clothing. Also, wearing a #compression garment may be suggested the first week and then nightly for up to six weeks. The #incision scars from a necklift can typically be hidden well and are not located within eye level to be immediately noticed. These #scars “mature” within six to twelve months from the surgery date. The term mature implies they will soften and fade away. During this time, the rejuvenating effects of the necklift will become most obvious and the neck feels the most normal (ex. little discomfort, soft, normal sensation, no more post-op firmness). Following this stage, the true restorative effects of your necklift result will be apparent. If during your healing, you have any concerns, it is suggested to call your board-certified surgeon or their medical staff and discuss those #concerns.

Answer: Repair of a deep indentation in the neck A deep indentation in the front part of the neck can be caused from a facelift where the platysma muscles have separated from their midline suture platysma plasty. To repair this would require a neck lift with an additional platysma plasty.

Answer: Platysma plasty for the cobra deformity What you are describing is called a cobra deformity. It's most likely that The platysma bands are still present and that the excess needs to be removed and then the two bands sutured together etc. Make sure you see a very experienced revision facelift surgeon for this.
