Breast Reduction in Thailand?

Thank you for your question.

This is a personal choice that only you can make.  I tell patients to make sure their surgeon is a well experienced surgeon who performs the surgery in a fully accredited surgery center or hospital, preferably with a well experienced board-certified anesthesiologist.  The quality and duration of follow-up should also be a consideration.

Best wishes.

Breast Reduction out of the Country?

+1

If your insurance will not cover your breast reduction surgery, it may be tempting to travel out of the country for your procedure. There is a lot of advertising claiming greatly reduced surgical fees and being able to recover in a tropical paradise. Before buying that plane ticket there are some important factors to consider. Language and cultural barriers can make communicating frustrating. Accreditation and other measures of quality control vary greatly in other parts of the world. Many surgeons can offer lower fees because they are not required to have malpractice insurance, what happens if you have a complication once you return home, are you going to fly back to Thailand? Long distance traveling after surgery can increase the risk of a blood clot due to many hours of immobility. Carrying luggage could be difficult. And lastly you need to avoid being in the sun it can complicate scar healing.
