Some of you say absolutely safe to have Facelift with Botox injections that have already been done. On the other hand I am getting warnings of that it is a bad idea and wait until after for the best results. Bottom line anyone? Who should we listen too? Thanks

Botox and Facelifts
All good, thorough feedback from panel members. It would also appear that there are different interpretations of the question being asked.
In our practice, we suggest patients have their consultation for surgery without recent use of Botox or Dysport so that an assessment may be made as to the patient's baseline. Also, many surgeons will administer Botox preoperatively to minimize muscle function during the healing phase.
Regardless, much will depend on what your...

Perfectly fine to combine
While personal opinions may differ, there is no reason that Botox would impair the lift, cause any further complications or increase the risks involved. I personally like to compliment the lift with the anti-aging and non-surgical improvements seen with Botox. Also, there is some literature that Botox can speed healing after eyelifting.
good luck!

Botox usually not a conflict for having a facelift.
Facelifts typically address the neck and face including the temple. The eyelids and forehead can be done at the same time but are not included when defining a typical facelift. Botox can be done anytime and not have any effect on a facelift except a brow/fore head lift might be harder for the surgeon to evaluate if that area was botoxed.

Botox will not conflict with a facelift
Botox is effective at treating dynamic line, particularly the '11' lines in the forehead. Facelift will address static lines and laxity, or wrinkles at rest. They work differently and can compliment one another. You should be fine for facelift after Botox.

Botox at time of facelift
I would recommend waiting until after a Facelift, at least a week, before considering Botox injection. The anesthetic and the surgical edema can affect the result of the Botox injection. Botox injection have minimal discomfort, so there is no reason to risk a poor or unexpected result with Botox.

Facelift after botox
There is no problem having a facelift at any time following Botox injections. The Botox is typically injected in the brow and forehead while a facelift involves tightening of the skin and muscles of the cheek and neck. They will not interfere with each other at all. Good luck.

Botox timing with facelift
There is no problem performing a facelift after having Botox therapy. It will not affect the surgery results. I would not recommend having Botox any time within a few days before surgery to 2 weeks after. It would be advisable to have the botox effect stable prior to surgery and swelling after surgery may affect its placement and efficacy.

Facelift after having Botox injection is OK
You have had the Botox injections probably on your forehead or between the eyebrows or around the eyes and now considering facelift. This is safe and OK and there is no reason to wait. But if you were considering forehead lift or eyelid surgery, I would recommend waiting about 3 months.

Hearing conflicting opinions about have Botox and Face Lifts at the same time or sooner thereafter, who's right?
I have performed Botox injections and Face Lifts for over 20 years and IMHO, if both are performed properly, they are mutually beneficial and pose no threat to the final outcome of a Face Lift. Who to listen to? IMHO, it's always best to listen to the advice of a surgeon capable of doing both to you...that way you know you're not getting a biased opinion based on the limitation of what procedures they offer.
I personally can't imagine an...

Don't have BOTOX and the same time and place surgery is being done.
Having said that, a lower facelift and say eyebrow and forehead BOTOX just is not an issue. An experience surgeon will know what is appropriate. Bottom line is you either trust your surgeon or you don't. A gazillion opinions from people who don't know what is being done and how, are worthless. Stop letting yourself be stirred up by well meaning but unhelpful advice.

Boox of Forehead wait.
In my practice only the botox of the forehead should be absent befor a brow lift. The other areas do not matter. Botox of the forehead can effect the height of the brows and can alter the height reading. Sometime i will take a eyebrow height measurement before the botox for a baseline and then it does not matter.

I've Heard Conflicting Things About Getting A Facelift After Botox Injections. What Really is Right?
I personally like my patient without the Botox effect before any facial surgery. But that is just me.

Botox treatments and Facelifts are mutually exclusive approaches
Botox and facelift surgeries are mutually exclusive. Both compliment each other and don't interfere with each other. Stop listening to lay opinions.

Botox doesn't conflict with a facelift
It is uncommon to use Botox in the areas treated by a facelift so these can be mutually beneficial treatments and not mutually exclusive.

Facelift and Botox do different things so OK to have them together
A facelift typically involves lifting and reshaping the neck and face up to the cheek area. (A browlift can be done to treat the forehead area but isn't a standard part of a facelift.) Botox is usually done in the forehead area and around the eyes (crow's feet) so if planned carefully there should be no problem with having Botox at the same time as or before a facelift.

Botox is ok before facelift
If you had botox for the forehead and around the eyes, lower facelift is ok. Post Botox I would not recommend eye lift or forehead lif.

Botox with facelift
Doing BoTox injections at the time of a facelift is fine. The area that is involved in one doesn't interfere or overlap with the other. The facelift deals with the lower face and neck while the Botox works on the forehead and around the eyes.

Botox after facelift?
I see no contraindications with having Botox after facelift surgery. It is something that can be done at the time of your sugery, before or after if it is injected properly.

Botox and Facelift
Now I'll be the first to admit that I don't have the guts to Botox anything except the periorbita, glabella and forehead. So realistically none of these areas are affected during a facelift. However, any area that has been paralyzed by Botox can be elevated during a facelift without risk of complication.
Now, it's different if we're talking about a brow lift. In this case it's absolutely okay if not prudent to undergo Botox of the forehead...

Botox vs facelift
Botox and Facelift accomplish two different goals. Botox weakens the muscle while a Facelift removes excess skin and repositions the deeper structures. Which treatment is best depends on your goals and anatomy.
