My daughter was bit by a dog on the face and has some horrific scars. There is also railroad tracking from the stitching on the face which makes the face look worse. What causes scaring from the stitches and can you ever eliminate the stitch marks with revision surgery?

Resurfacing lasers great for scarring
Fractional resurfacing lasers such as Fraxel Re:Store and Fraxel Re:pair can be very helpful for improving skin scars including the stitch marks. If there is a lot of redness, these treatments can be combined with Vbeam pulsed dye laser to reduce the redness. If there is a depression in the area or loss of tissue under the scar, then a dermal injection of filler or a fat transfer can be helpful.
