Scar Revision and Sciton Erbium 1 Week Later - Is This Okay?

I'm having scar revisions on my face then Sciton Erbium laser (test spot behind ear) on them and minor dented scars. I was told to use hydroquinone 6 weeks prior plus I'm using retin-a. I was told its okay to use those topicals until the day before surgery/laser. Is this right? I can't find much online about having Erbium 1 week after surgery/scar revision. Does this sound right? I am worried that the doctor is going to be using a suture technique that involves leaving tracks????
