Answer: Developing Symmastia? At three weeks out from a breast augmentation it is not unusual to still have some swelling that may be over the sternal area as well. However, based on your post-op picture, it looks like you may be developing some early symmastia. This occurs when the implants migrate too close to one another and lift off the soft tissues from the sternum, resulting in the loss of cleavage and separation of the breasts. I would meet with your surgeon as soon as possible to discuss your recovery and potential correction options. I hope this helps

CONTACT NOW Answer: Symmastia Concern 3 Weeks Post Op Symmastia is a condition which can occur when the implants are too close together. Patients often refer to this as a “uniboob.” Occasionally, the space or pocket for the breast implant is created towards the center, or the tissue stretches, forcing the implants to fall too much towards the center of the breasts. Currently, you do not appear to have #symmastia. Also, it is still quite early into your post-op healing stage. Therefore, what you may be experience is swelling which can be mistaken as symmastia. If you are not satisfied with your #final #results or if there are any concerns, it's best to consult with your plastic surgeon to further discuss your #options.

Answer: Symmastia based on your pictures, there's certainly some swelling there which is normal 3 weeks after surgery, however it also looks as though there might be settling of the implants towards the midline consistent with Symmastia. it is best to go see your surgeon as soon as possible, there are certain bras that can help push the implants away from the midline. Sometimes this may require surgical correction in about 3 to 6 months but sometimes these bras can help. Hope this helps good luck.
