I'm thinking about getting a nose job because I don't like the tip or my side profile. I'm okay with it from the front view, I just think it's too wide. I would like to remove some of the extra cartilage from the tip.So I'm wondering what the best option would be for making it thinner and changing the tip? If I change just the tip I feel like it would be unbalanced with the bridge... It's also a little crooked to the right as well. Just wondering what my options would be! Welcome any feedback!
Answer: Full rhinoplasty, not tip plasty A full rhinoplasty is required to narrow the entire nose. Narrowing just the tip will make the bridge look relatively even more wide than it already is. Osteotomies of the nasal bones are required to narrow the bridge line. A tip rhinoplasty with suture techniques and conservative cartilage removal are performed to narrow the wide and bulbous nasal tip.

Answer: Primary rhinoplasty tabwalk- thanks for your question. You have already made some astute observations about your nose. The size and contour of your nasal tip is dependent upon the lower lateral cartilages but in your case the skin thickness may also be an issue. Rhinoplasty techniques can improve the size, definition and width of your nasal tip but must include the consideration of your dorsum as well. The entire nose should be balanced within the upper, middle and lower thirds, and must be harmonious with the remainder of your face. Consultation with a rhinoplastic surgeon can help you convey your concerns in person and then obtain direct feedback about options your surgeon recommends to achieve your goals. Find a board certified facial plastic surgeon or plastic surgeon near you!best wishes

Answer: Would a tip plasty be right for me? Improving the nasal tip is a frequent request of patients wanting nasal refinement. It is possible to improve the cosmetic appearance of the tip alone without altering the rest of the nose in some patients. Whether the optimal option in your particular situation would be a tip rhinoplasty alone or a full rhinoplasty would best be determined at a consultation. Either procedure can be performed with a closed or open approach. Following the advice from a surgeon on this or any other website who proposes to tell you exactly what to do based on limited 2 dimensional photos without examining you, physically feeling the tissue, assessing your desired outcome, taking a full medical history, and discussing the pros and cons of the operative procedure would not be in your best interest. I would suggest you find a plastic surgeon with extensive nasal surgery experience who is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or a facial plastic surgeon (ENT) that you trust and are comfortable with. You should discuss your concerns with that surgeon in person. Robert Singer, MD FACS La Jolla,California

Answer: Tip Plasty Hi Tabby. Really, the definitive answer rests with a careful discussion between you and your surgeon. If your thought process is to make the nose thinner overall, additional maneuvers in addition to tip plasty are indicated. If there are concerns, I think the thought process is to address everything at once. Hope this is helpful. Best wishes. If you like, please follow the link below.
