Saline or Silicone? I need the most natural feel, look, and movement

Getting BA done next month. My doctor usually recommends silicone because most of his patients have an A cup. After examining me, he said I could go either way; silicone or saline because I'm a full 34B cup. He said I have enough breast tissue to where you won't tell a difference. I would still get the same results, will be soft as silicone, and give me good projection. I'm a 34 full B.I'm shooting for a 34 full D.What would you suggest? I need the most natural feel, look, and movement.

Breast Augmentation: Natural Look and Feel

As you can see from all of the different answers to your questions, there is NO RIGHT ANSWER.  All plastic surgeons have differeing opinions about this subject based on their own experience.  In general, if you have an adequate amount of breast tissue, then you probably would be happy with either silicone gel or saline.  Silicone gel implants do feel and look more natural in women who are thin with minimal amounts of breast tissue.  It ultimately comes down to the comfort... more

You will be happier with silicone implants!

I just answered a similar question already posted by you, but will repeat my answer here as well! As others have stated, silicone will feel softer, more natural, and more homogeneous with your own breast tissue. Saline implants will have sufficient tissue coverage in your anatomy for a good result as well, but you may have rippling, a "water-balloon" feel, and potential for eventual deflation requiring re-operation. (All to save a few hundred bucks?) 98% of my patients choose... more

Silicone Saline Breast Implants

Be glad you have enough tissue cover to allow you to easily choose between the two types.I use both silicone and saline implants. Silicone gel implants look more natural and feel softer with less chance of visible wrinkling. Studies show silicone implants do not increase the incidence of disease or the chances of developing breast or other cancers. The FDA recommends MRI scans to follow gel implants postop. Saline implants, on the other hand, are less expensive. I can insert a saline... more

Avoid saline implants

Avoid Saline. They will age faster, look less natural, feel less natural and ripple!

Saline vs Silicone

Saline implants are also an option but Silicone will give you the more natural look and feel you want to achieve.

Evaluate factors such as size, incision you prefer to make you choice

You have a wonderful breast envelope capable fo holding many saline or silicone in the prefered submammary plane. If your preference is to have the smallest incision possible in the areaolar region with a large implant, then saline will be best. If you prefer a inframammary incision with softer more natural breasts then choose silicone.

Silicone vs. Saline Breast Implants

In general, silicone implants will look, feel and move more naturally than their saline counterpart. Saline implants usually give a rounder and "perkier" looking breast. The more breast tissue you have before augmentation the less the differences between these two implants will be noticed. That all said, to have the most natural result I would recommend silicone implants.

Saline-filled vs. gel-filled breast implants

The short answer to this issue is that for you, a saline-filled breast implant that is sized, positioned, and filled correctly will look just like a gel-filled implant of the same size, shape, and position. Since you have adequate tissue coverage over the areas of the implant not covered by the pectoralis muscle you will not currently be able to feel the difference between the saline-filled implant compared to the gel filled. I disagree that saline-filled breast implants create a... more

Saline or silicone

Silicone is definitely softer and more natural looking and feeling. however the saline will give you a rounder look to your breast. the type of implant depends on your ultimate desires.  good luck

Saline versus Silicone Breast Implants

Which is better, saline or silicone breast implants? There is no right answer, but there are many factors to consider: The same size saline implants weigh more than their silicone counterpart. Saline implants are firmer and more tense. Silicone implants are softer and more "lifelike". Saline implants tend to ripple, which can be felt or seen, specially at the lower outer quadrant of the breast where the implant won't be covered by muscle. Saline... more

You can never go wrong with silicone

Silicone is a better implant, now in your situation, I agree with your surgeon that you can go with saline and may get the same feel of silicone. But, what if you didn't get the silicone feel. Are going to be happy?

Breast augmentation

Silicone implants are softer than saline and therefore may create a more natural feel and look. Saline implants may look a little fuller superiorly.

Saline vs. Silicone Implants - How to Decide

Choosing the proper implant is one of the most important decisions you can make with a successful breast augmentation. A silicone implant is almost always softer, more natural and has less intrinsic problems such as rippling or visibility. A saline implant however, has one main benefit in that if you really want a round look, it will produce this more effectively. This does not seem to be what you are asking. Thus, although you may be able to "hide" saline implants with the... more

Natural feel

Usually silicone implants feel softer and more natural than saline implants. As for volume, that is something you should discuss with your surgeon.

Are Saline or Silicone Breast Implants Better?

Dear Improvedme, One of the most popular questions patient ask me regarding breast augmentation is "are saline or silicone breast implants better?" Unfortunately, there is no universal or absolute answer. Both saline and silicone breast implants are good choices, each with millions of satisfied patients, but they each have their own advantages and disadvantages. In general, silicone implants are a little bit softer and more natural feeling, with less tendency to ripple, but... more

Saline vs. silicone implants for breast augmentation

As a rule, silicone implants look, feel and move more naturally than saline implants.  As the amount of tissue covering the implants increases, however, the differences become less perceptible.  Since you stated that you need the most natural look, feel and movement, the choice would remain silicone.

Saline vs Silicone Implants

I feel that you will always get the most natural feel, look, and movement with silicone implants.  Although I agree with your surgeon that you have a moderate amount of breast tissue which will hid the implants (assuming that they are placed behind the muscle), I still feel that you will be happier with silicone implants.

Saline or Silicone? I need the most natural feel, look, and movement

My choice in your situation is silicone for a more natural feel. But either way you go I'm sure will be acceptable.

Silicone versus saline breast implants

Breast augmentation with saline implants is generally not a great decision in women who are very thin with small breasts.  This will lead to implant  palpability.  In your case, your implant will be covered by enough breast tissue that you will unlikely see ripples, but you may feel them.

Saline or silicone implants for breast augmentation

I believe your surgeon is correct you could have either saline or silicon implants and either type of breast augmentation should give you a natural looking result with good breast projection.  Given the amount of breast tissue you already have, I do not think you will be able to feel any significant difference between a saline or a silicone implant.  You should also know that if you choose silicone implants the federal government expects you to monitor your breasts with regular MRI... more
