Does Salicylic Acid Peel percentage vary with Acne conditions?

Doctor Answers (1)

Salicylic Acid peel concentrations

The concentration used for a chemical peel with salicylic acid depends on several factors:
-- the sensitivity of the skin being treated in terms of degree of inflammation or dryness, and how intact the skin barrier is,
  -- the skin color, and
-- the response to the last treatment, and the concentration used for that treatment.

The reason for treatment, eg. to improve acne, wrinkles, skin tone,  or discoloration, is less of a determinant of strength since the goal is to deliver the highest concentration that the patient can tolerate.

I hope this helps!
