Is It Safe to Have Facial Waxing Done While You're Using Retin A?

Ive heard conflicting things regarding this. Ive read your not suppose to have any kind of facial waxing done..then I also read you can but you should stop with the Retin A few days prior to waxing. Can someone please explain this? Thanks in advance.

Retin A and facial waxing

Great question, everyone is different when it comes to sensitivity. You definitely want to avoid any major exfoliants prior to waxing. What can happen is that the skin is sensitized and when you apply hot wax or any other hair depilatory, you can tear the skin. Its much easier to avoid using active topicals than getting rid of scarring. In general, you want to avoid using exfoliating agents such as retinols, alpha-hydroxy and beta-hydroxy acids, and benzoyl peroxide14... more
