Is It Safe to Have Facial Thermage over a Permanent Filler Like Aquamid?

Thermage after Alcamid

I would have no problem with this as long as the skin integrity over the bio-alcamid was unaffected.

I do not use permanent fillers in my practice as the comparative safety profile of non permanent alternatives is unequivocal

Kind regards

Hi CJM,

While i can't comment on Aquamid, a polyacrylamide-based filler not available in the US, there have been several studies on humans and in animals demonstrating that radiofrequency treatments such as Thermage are safe to do after receiving calcium hydroxylapatite (Radiesse), poly-L-lactic acid (Sculptra), hyaluronic acid (Restlane), human collagen (Cosmoplast) and silicone (Sililon 1000) based filler injections.  I suggest you contact the doctor performing your Aquamid filler for more specific advice.

Good luck!
