Rubbing Nose

Hi everyone, I had a difficult revision rhinoplasty done about 5 months ago. I am really happy with the result but have become slightly paranoid of sleeping because I woke up almost on my nose the other day. If I started rubbing my nose at night or slept on it could this cause any sort of damage or move it out of place at 5 months post op? Thanks!!!

Nasal Damage While Sleeping after Rhinoplasty

In 35 years of  rhinoplasty surgery, I've never had a patient hurt themself while sleeping. Significant trauma would be painful and probably wake the patient. I'm more concerned about  bed partners who accidently strike the patient or roll-over in their sleep.

Rubbing nose at 5 months

It is not likely that rubbing your nose or sleeping on it will cause any damage - in general it is hard to damage the nose with mechanical activities that don't result in pain or bleeding

Altering a nose job results from sleeping

The immediate answer is no, Light rubbing should not generally displace your nasal grafts and surgery 5 months after surgery. However, I a cannot say this with comlete confidence as I do not know how aggressively you are manipulating your nose while sleeping. see video
