Does rotating the tip during Rhinoplasty lift your upper lip?

If my tip gets rotated does it lift my upper lip when at the same time the lip muscle is being cut to prevent my nose from drooping?

Neither of these maneuvers will lift your upper lip.

Fantastic question.
There is a muscle that goes from your lip vertically upwards and attaches to the cartilages of the tip.
In some patients this muscle is very active and must be released to allow the tip not only to be raised but also remain in that position. The ultimate goal being the tip not moving when you smile, such as in photos.

Dividing this muscle does not influence the position of the lip long term.

I hope this helps.
