I have 375 high profile silicone implants by mentor. Fitted over muscle. Was happy with results. Just want to check I have developed purple stretch marks is this normal? Also in between two breasts so in the insides if I feel my skin I can feel ripples, my surgeon says this is because I have little breast tissue there and rippling is not visible you can only feel it. Is this correct I'm slightly disappointed as my husband has even commented. Op done 4 months ago.
Answer: Stretch marks and ripples after breast implants placed beneath the breast on top of the muscle I'm very sorry to hear of your distress. Stretch marks can occur after breast augmentation but are very unusual occurring and less than 5% of patients in my experience. They also tend to occur and people who are prone to stretch marks and who have experienced him after pregnancy. If you do in fact have true stretch marks that are reddish in color 1540 non-ablative fractional laser treatments can reduce their size and change the purple red color to white. The problem of ripples and noticeable breast implant deformities when the implant is beneath the breast can be covered up with fat injection. However another option would be to replace the implants beneath the chest muscle to provide better coverage and less pressure on the skin of the breast. Please returned your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns in person and I would suggest you bring your husband along for that visit.

CONTACT NOW Answer: Rippling and stretchmarks Stretchmarks may develop with larger implants. It's really genetic disposition and weight fluctuations that are big factors.Stretch marks are permanent and can be improved with skin treatments, however these generally take many sessions to achieve any noticeable improvement. In addition, results are unpredictable. As for the rippling, your surgeon is right. The risk of rippling increases when there is less tissue covering the implant and when it is placed over the muscle. Aside from revision surgery, there is nothing that you can do about it.

Answer: Rippling I agree that everything is a balance when considering where to place the implants. The usual way to assess this is by a pinch test of the skin over the breast. At least 1cm of pinch is needed to provide good cover but this can stretch and thin with implants in place. It is hard to appreciate the stretch marks in the images you show. They will fade in colour but not disappear and these are due to your skin type but further surgery will not remove them. Best thing is to see your PS discuss your concerns but weigh the information carefully before proceeding with further surgery.Best wishes

Answer: It is normal for above the muscle implants The placement if implants above the muscle has advantages and disadvantages and you are noticing one of them. You can have fat grafting to buildup your soft tissue covering the implants or revise them by placing under muscle. The rippling will get worse with time and weight loss and will get better with weight gain.

Answer: Palpable implant after breast augmentation. From your photos I am not able to appreciate the stretch marks you mentioned. Stretch marks that previously existed from pregnancy and breast development can become very prominent during the swelling phase of breast augmentation. It is a little unusual for a 375cc implant to cause stretch marks, but it can happen in certain skin types (usually pigmented). They will fade with time. I agree with your plastic surgeon's assessment. Implants can sometimes be palpable if the breast tissue is thin. I would recommend waiting 6 months before making any decisions on re-operation. It appears you have a fantastic result and you are probably still getting used to it.
