My ENT scheduled me for a rigid nasal endoscopy. How risky is this considering I have undergone rhinoplasty? Will it affect the shape of my nose (the cartilage) or hurt the inner structure of the nose? Thank you for your time:)

Rigid nasal endoscopy after rhinoplasty.

This should not be a problem for an experienced endoscopist. Remind your surgeon before he begins that you would like your nose to be the same when he is finished.

Rigid endoscopy after rhinoplasty

The rigid nasal endoscopy will be looking at your sinus cavities inside your nose and will not affect the rhinoplasty results. It will not affect the shape or cartilage of your nose or hurt the inner structures. Your ENT surgeon is simply looking at your sinus drainage pathways, which are further back in the posterior portion of the nose.

Nasal endoscopy by an experienced surgeon will not change nasal appearance or compromise nasal function. Make sure the endoscopist is aware of your previous surgery.

Endoscopy after rhinoplasty.
