Surgeon or Dermatologist for Acne Scars Treatment?

Any board certified plastic surgeon or board certified dermatologist that frequently performs scar revisions and removal. The key factor is experience.

I personally believe that we overemphasize specialty and board certification. I am a facial plastic surgeon with 3 boards and Ivy League training but those are not reasons to pick me. Someone should choose a physician based on his or her experience with the treatment with good before and afters and explanation of technique. I am prejudiced since I am a board certified dermatologist who has been performing scar revision procedures for acne scars since 1983, but it seems to me that the skin is the primary domain of dermatologic surgeons (another name for dermatologists who perform procedures) since our focus is the skin.
