After a rhinoplasty, the nose always looks slanted upwards just because of the incisions. It will drift back down in the postoperative phase, which takes several months. The swelling itself makes the nose slant upwards including the tip.
I had rhinoplasty 3 weeks ago and fearful that my surgeon might have shortened my nose when asked he denied it and said it’s because of swelling.
I had a broad bridge and a thick tip. In the surgeon's words, I didn't have a really big nose so I assumed he understood when I said I just want a slight and subtle change. He had changed the whole shape.
Does swelling make the nose slant upwards with the tip included?

It is not uncommon for the nose to look "too upturned" in the first several weeks following rhinoplasty. The external splint and swelling of the tip contribute to this, but as the edema (swelling) subsides, the tip should turn downward a little. Be patient.
The nose slants upward with swelling and as the swelling goes down, so should the nose. It may take at least 6 months to see the change.
