Can You Reverse a Scar That is Starting to Hyperpigment?

About 2 years ago I had a tummy tuck. The scars hyperpigmented (with no sun exposure and using scar gel strips). I recently had the vertical part redone because it formed a thick cocoon-like scar. The new incision is starting to hyperpigment around the edges again. Can I stop it? Also, I am told that they have lasers (yag?) that can help the existing ones, but I read that persons, such as myself, with adrenal insuffiency can even hyperpigment from the laser. Any recommendations?
