Can I Use a Retinoid AND Glycolic Acid at Night at the Same Time?

I like to use a glycolic acid cream for my face and a milder product with retinaldehyde on my eye area, but I heard they inactivate each other. Do they inactivate each other even if I don't use them in the same area?
